Pendora Park Lecture & Hike: Part 2 of 2
July 29 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join Berks County native historian and author Paul Druzba for an evening lecture on the history of Reading’s Pendora Park, including its transformation from an ice dam into a spectacular amusement park, which burned and was lost after only four seasons of operation. Druzba is the author of two books: “Pendora: Forgotten Trolley Park of Reading.” and “Neversink: Reading’s ‘Other’ Mountain.” Join Paul for one or both of the lecture and accompanying hike on Mount Penn’s Gravity Trail, from Pendora Park up through Mineral Spring Park and Egelman’s Park and back. Copies of Druzba’s book will be for sale at the time of the lecture and can be signed by the author. Price includes snacks and drinks at lecture.
Thursday, JULY 13th: Pendora Park Lecture, 7-8pm, The Nature Place at Angelica Park. Saturday, JULY 29th: Pendora Hike, 9am- noon. Meetup location TBA at lecture.
